County Meath is a county located in the east of Ireland, known for its rich history, picturesque towns, and beautiful countryside. The county seat is Navan, a historic town that is home to a variety of cultural and heritage sites. Other notable towns in County Meath include Trim, Kells and Athboy.

One of the county’s most famous attractions is the Hill of Tara, an ancient ceremonial and political site that was the seat of the High Kings of Ireland and home to a rich collection of archaeology, including standing stones and earthworks. Another must-see destination is the Newgrange, a prehistoric passage tomb that is considered one of the most important megalithic sites in Europe, dating back to around 3200 BC. Additionally, County Meath is known for the River Boyne and its many historic sites such as the High Crosses of Kells, the ruins of the Trim Castle and the beautiful landscape that surrounds them.

What are the most popular diamond shapes in Meath?

The shape of a diamond refers to the overall outline or silhouette of the stone, while the cut refers to the proportions, symmetry, and polish of the diamond. The shape of a diamond can greatly affect its appearance and how it sparkles and shines.

The fire and shine of a diamond refer to the rainbow-like flashes of color that are visible when the diamond is moved or viewed from different angles. The fire and shine of a diamond are affected by the cut and overall quality of the diamond, not just the shape. A well-cut diamond will have a higher level of fire and shine, regardless of its shape.

What are the most popular gemstones in Ireland this year?

They offer a range of colours, styles, and shapes to choose from, allowing couples to find a ring that perfectly reflects their personal taste and style. Gemstones such as sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and morganites are popular choices and can add a pop of colour and personality to the piece. Whether you want a classic, elegant look or a more modern, trendy design, there is a gemstone out there to suit your preferences.

Ciaran & Kate from Meath's Engagement Ring

These days, buying an engagement ring can be a daunting prospect and with so much access to images of beautiful rings, it is hard to pick just one.

The story of Ciaran and Kate relates to this problem. Kate is an avid user of Pinterest and Instagram, with the theme of engagement rings dominating her feed. She found it hard to narrow down what style she wanted. Eventually Kate decided on two rings (see them below) that she liked the style of, and that is when she reached out to us here at Bespoke Diamonds.

Traveling from Meath to Find her Perfect Ring

After searching in Meath for anything that resembled the two styles, Kate googled ‘engagement rings Dublin’. Kate found our site and proceeded to see if we had the rings she was looking for. Needless to say, as we design and make all our rings in-house, Kate was sure we would be able to create her perfect engagement ring.

Travelling from Meath would not be a problem for Kate at the weekend, so she called us here at Bespoke Diamonds and booked an appointment on a Saturday, so her fiancée Ciaran could join her.

The two rings that Kate wanted were VR1030 and VR1049, below. Kate loved the style of VR1030, but also was fond of the centre stone in VR1049. She was aware that us here at Bespoke Diamonds specialize in custom made rings. After a brief discussion, Kate decided on taking the route of a custom made engagement ring.

Our in-house design team worked alongside Kate during the process of making the ring. The team helped Kate create her perfect ring by sending pictures of the ring at each stage. Four weeks later, Ciaran and Kate travelled from Meath to collect the ring. We are glad to say that the two were overjoyed with the final design and stated that they couldn’t wait to go back to Meath to show their family and friends.

Who Chooses the Engagement Ring?

Couples Together vs Man/One Partner

More couples choosing an engagement ring in Meath come in together rather than having one partner pick the ring. This can be a practical solution and ensures that the receiver of the ring will love it. However, our “Love it or Return it” guarantee* gives partners the confidence to choose on their own should they want to (if the receiver of the ring would like to change the ring within 100 days, we will take the ring back in exchange for another design or custom design.
We do notice that this varies around the country and particularly in country towns and rural areas.

Natural Diamond vs Lab Grown Diamond

This year we have seen a huge swing towards lab grown diamonds and Meath is no exception. In recent years, people have chosen lab grown diamonds for various reasons including sustainability, ethical reasons and their lower price. We see this trend continuing next year and also expect lab grown gemstones and lab grown coloured diamonds to make their mark too. Not included in this figure are Moissanite Engagement Rings which we have seen increase in sales again this year.
