Mark and Alison had both grown up in Mayo and had met each other in college. They had both studied IT and had decided to work remotely after graduation. They had been together for five years and had built a life together. They were both happy with their careers and loved the flexibility of remote work, but they also knew that they wanted to start a family together.

Mark decided to plan the proposal for a weekend when they were both back in Mayo, visiting their families.
