Who really won the Gold Medals?

There seems to be something in the water in Rio because everyone seems to be popping the question.
With the Games now ended and the medals all handed out we thought we’d share some of the Olympians who we think won gold.

After He Zi received a silver medal for her spectacular performance in the women’s three meter springboard, her long term boyfriend Qin Kai was down on knee beside the pool diving at the chance to ask her to be his wife and giving her gold.

Brazilian women's rugby player Isadora Cerullo melted hearts when she accepted a marriage proposal from her girlfriend at the medals ceremony for the first Olympic rugby sevens competition. Television cameras and photographers captured the moment that Marjorie Enya, a manager at the Deodoro stadium in Rio where the competition was played, took the microphone to pop the question to her girlfriend of two years on the pitch. Second on the list is Isadora Cerulla and girlfriend Marjorie Enya. After Cerullo competed in the women’s rugby competition her now fiancée proposed to her using a gold ribbon, right there on the field, making her the very first Athlete to get engaged at the Olympics. Check out our collection of Engagement Rings, which one do you think Cerullo will pick?

Tom Bosworth, the British race-walker, was one of the next athletes to make the first step towards walking down the aisle when he brought his boyfriend, Harry Dineley, down on to Copacabana beach. There Bosworth knelt down on one knee and asked Dineley to marry him and gave him a diamond set white gold engagement ring. A friend caught the moment on camera and Bosworth later tweeted the picture titling it “He said YES!!”.
A couple more proposals happened during the games, these are just a few stories we wanted to share with you.
