Would You Wear a Wedding Ring Tattoo?

tattoo-wedding-ring-bands-3Would You Wear a Wedding Ring Tattoo? It’s an age old tradition that the bride and groom exchange rings at their ceremony. This was to symbolise their love for each other. But what about getting a tattoo instead? Super-model Behati Prinsloo, who married Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine did this. They married earlier this year. They recently made the headlines for revealing her wedding finger tattoo. However, she wears a tattoo as well as a ring.

Other celebrities, such as tennis star Kim Clijsters and actress Billie Piper, have chosen to wear a tattoo instead of a ring completely. Kim Clijsters revealed her tattooed finger at Wimbledon a couple of years ago, too much fanfare. For some fans of the wedding ring tattoo, a simple band motif will suffice. While others opt for intricate artwork, including patterns, initials, symbols and wedding dates. However, if it all ends badly then you’ll have a permanent reminder attached to your finger.

Of course, a tattoo is much less expensive than an engagement ring and wedding ring.  There is no possibility of losing it. But they could potentially turn into a fad that will look unfashionable in yeas to come. Plus spare a thought for Twilight star Nikki Reed and former American Idol contestant Paul McDonald. They got each other’s names tattooed on the sides of their ring fingers when they got engaged in 2011. However, they split earlier this year. We at Bespoke Diamonds think that there is a lot to be said for exchanging rings!
